How I Code

I believe very strongly in writing CSS using a BEM naming scheme, with the addition of namespaces. It allows for a much more modular, maintainable codebase and prevents the majority of large-scale CSS issues (specificity problems, file bloat, and so much more). For a fantastic read, check out this article: http://csswizardry.com/2015/03/more-transparent-ui-code-with-namespaces/.

When writing Angular, I adhere very strongly to the John Papa style guide.

For JavaScript in general, I prefer the AirBnB style guide.

I take great pride in what I do and that means keeping code DRY, commenting regularly, and committing often. Over the 10-plus years I've been writing code, I find that those best practices make things easier for everyone in the long run.
